The uses of chlorofluorocarbons, main cause Ozone Layer Depletion are

- Refrigerants (making the object cold and fresh) for refrigerators, automobiles and air-conditioners

- Foaming for wrapping materials and packing cushions.

- Propellants for air sprays.

Due to these products, earth's ozone layers are getting erased. Solutions for this is to find a subsitutional chemial for CFCs. Next, we can apply to the products.

A chemical called HFC is a substitute of CFCs. Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) are compounds that contain hydrogen, fluorine, and carbon atoms. They are like CFCs, except hydrogen atoms (causes ozone layer depletion) have replaced the chlorine atoms.

Replacement of the chlorine atom(s) with hydrogen atoms means that less chlorine atoms are released to the ozone. Which means there are lower toxicity; less flammability (able to be burnt up); do not produce smog.
